• SilencedHippie

    SilencedHippie

SilencedHippie was one of the first channels I came across as I began to discover the WeedTube channels of YouTube. Sasha is one of my favorite people to catch videos from. Her content comes across with such a positive warm vibe that it is no reason she took hippie as part of her moniker. She also hops on Periscope fairly often and also regularly collaborates with other people in the community on videos and other media. She has active social media accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

Sasha has supported the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute publicly praising the care that a family member received there, raising money through special runs of her tied dyed t-shirts and sponsored promotions. Even outside of her philanthropy she regularly sells t-shirts and other crafts that she makes with her mother. Her mother is a sweet woman who is cutely referred to as MamaHippie during her occasional appearances on Periscope with Sasha working on their crafts.

Sasha is another great content creator and definitely worth checking out. Her videos range from smoke seshs to stories and anything else you can think of. As I was typing this up she posted a video of herself in a Giraffe suit, and pretty such if you don’t think that is awesome it may mean that we can’t be friends.

  • SlowerFuture

    SlowerFuture

SlowerFuture is a musician, a grower and very relaxed creative content creator. He lives up in New England with his adorable partner Piper Piper, however recently they have been talking about packing up and spending some time out on the West Coast. Slower and Piper are active on a wide variety of communication platforms, and while I’ll talk about a few of them you should definitely check out their About page on HotBoxTheInternet for a more up to date list.

Originally I came across Slower on YouTube. His channel is an eclectic mix of informational content surrounding Slower’s own efforts growing and smoke sesh videos. Content has been frequent on the channel recently with a new series of posts every Monday with Slower’s Stoner Approved Mixes as well as informational content for growers and smokers alike (did I mention he has a SoundCloud).

My current favorite content from SlowerFuture definitely comes from Periscope. He has been incredibly active on the platform recently broadcasting several times most days. These relaxed, interactive sessions are definitely where I feel like Slower’s personality shines the brightest. The way Slower interacts with the participants in chat as well as his friends who frequently participate in scopes with each other gives the entire experience a very positive vibe. The Periscope sessions are enjoyable whether you are smoking along, participating in the normally lively conversation or just lurking in the back of the virtual room. I find myself often relating to Slower’s prospective on the world and rarely leave a stream where I don’t feel enriched in some way by the experience.

If you want to get a taste for Slower’s outlook on the world - check out a nostalgic look back at Mountain Living he wrote up for HotBoxTheInternet. This post contains some of his original music, story telling, and even some old (read: way before the beard) photos.

  • 2 Girls 1 Bong

    2 Girls 1 Bong

2 Girls 1 Bong (affectionately, 2g1b) is a show primarily featuring MacDizzle and Joyyyya. The show appears on both The High Rise Co YouTube channel as well as a premium Exclusive 2 Girls 1 Bong channel. Mainly consisting of smoke sesh videos, there are often challenges and other amusing content peppered in to keep things fresh and interesting.

The girls have a great dynamic on screen and both bring a unique flavor to the content. The High Rise Co channel recently passed the 100k subscriber mark (112k as of writing this) with more than 7 million views.

If you haven’t been exposed to 2g1b before today, I’d recommend you start with a few of these videos that I love from the channel:

Both of the girls have started to use Periscope recently for quick crowd sourced idea gathering or Perismoke sesh hangouts.

  • CustomGrow420

    CustomGrow420

Jolie from CustomGrow420 is one of the most popular personalities in the WeedTube community. The channel has over 738 thousand subscribers sporting more than 83 million views. His videos are normally very high energy and recorded in his dedicated smoking room using the camera on his phone. Jolie speaks fondly about the humble beginnings of his channel and how anyone with a modest technology setup can start creating content of their own.

The posting schedule of videos on the channel have been a bit sporadic lately sometimes with week long gaps, however Jolie has a huge body of older content available and because of the format he uses for his videos most of his content ages quite well. The channel has a lot of great product reviews, sponsored unboxing videos, and an extensive collection of glass he has built up over time. Videos normally run 15 minutes or less with some videos (being referred to as “Truck Stop Quickies”) running even shorter at 2-3 minutes. Jolie is active on Instagram and attends events where he records himself meeting up with his fans periodically in his videos.

  • Timebomb Tuesday with Dakota Paige

    Timebomb Tuesday with Dakota Paige

In a similar vein to my earlier post about Ganjalina I wanted to share another WeedTuber that puts out weekly videos. Dakota Paige is a WeedTuber from Canada who has a weekly video every Tuesday where she smokes a Timebomb. For those of you (like myself) who had never heard the term it describes a bowl packed around a short blunt or joint. Rather than try to explain it I’ll just point you to a much better source with a video Dakota made describing them in detail.

Dakota also regularly broadcasts on Periscope and her smoke sessions are always super laid bake and highly interactive. Dakota reminds me of a warm laid back friend that most of us have enjoyed relaxing with at one point in our lives.

  • Wake and Bake Wednesdays with Ganjalina

Wake and Bake Wednesdays with Ganjalina

I found Ganjalina originally from videos made during her trip to the Boston Freedom Rally last year. She runs a popular Periscope and has recent crossed 87k followers and has more than 11 million hearts on the platform. This year she has been putting out regular YouTube videos on her channel on Wednesday. Links below to the first 4 that are up so far but subscribe to her channel for a new Wake and Bake video every Wednesday.

Ganjalina is an awesome spirit - she is an army veteran, a mom, and not afraid to be a dork from time to time either. Definitely worth checking out if you are interested in having a few laughs while watching a beautiful girl enjoying the legal medical cannabis of Washington State.

  • Silenced Hippie curated Hemper Box

    Silenced Hippie curated Hemper Box

SlowerFuture mentioned during his scope this evening that I haven’t talked about the Silenced Hippie curated Hemper Box coming up in February yet. Total oversight on my part! I’m a new Hemper Box subscriber but I’m psyched to get my first one as I’ve been a fan of Sasha’s for a few months at this point. I ordered the Glassentials Box and I can’t wait to see the contents in a few weeks when it arrives!

Sasha sumarized the only hints I’ve heard so far in a recent Tweet. It sounds like the glass is likely coming from GravLabs and something from Kings of Kush will be included in the box as well. Anyway, all very exciting stuff! If you are a first time Hemper Box subscriber like me don’t forget to use the “SilencedHippie” discount code at checkout - off my order it saved me $3.

  • StrainCentral hits 200k

Today StrainCentral crossed the 200,000 subscriber mark on YouTube (I feel like you should write it out for full impact). Josh is a great dude and he deserves all the success he has found. He puts out great content on a regular basis and I really enjoy watching his channel. Be sure to check him out if you are not already subscribed.

If you didn’t see the new video on the StrainCentral channel Josh is partnering up with Paul from tokenGLX on something they are calling Collab Aloha. They are going to be sending pipes to other members of the WeedTube community after blessing them in the beautiful waters of Hawaii. Very cool idea guys! Love the good vibes.

  • Amazing Nobody Glass

Yesterday Nobody stopped by to drop off a another batch of glass off to SlowerFuture for his store. They showed off the amazing glass and answered a ton of questions live on Periscope. Everyone on the scope could see how touched Nobody was by the appreciation of his art work. The glass pipes were amazingly varied and durable. Several times during the scope Slower and Nobody threw the pieces around casually and they held up.

Being someone with more of an engineering mindset I am always very inspired by people who are artistically creative. The glass work that Nobody does is distinct and beautiful. Clearly he takes his craft and each of his pieces very seriously. Piper and Slower mentioned that they plan to post the pipes this coming Friday at midnight (Technically, Saturday 1/6 00:00:00 -0:500) on the store at HotBoxTheInternet. Hopefully I’ll be able to get one during this round, but if not they said they hope to keep the pipes coming if they keep selling.

UPDATE: Piper posted that they are going to be dropping some of the glass starting as early as Thursday at 10pm Eastern!

  • Welcome!

    Hey folks!

I’ve been inspired to start a new on-line presence after spending time watching all of the creative wonderful people in the on-line stoner community. I’ll be talking about my own experiences and linking to interesting people from the community. I don’t really know what this will eventually become but for now I’m excited to start something new.

If you are looking for a place to get started with the community be sure to check out HotBoxTheInternet
